Tell weather the measurements can be the side lengths of a triangle. If so, classify the triangle as acute, obtuse, or right. 15,18,20. 7,8,11

Hi there!

Let's use the pythagorean theorem for both sets of values.

WORK:

{15}^(2) + {18}^(2) = {20}^(2)

225 + 324 = 400

549 > 400
The first set of values is an ACUTE triangle.


{7}^(2) + {8}^(2) = {11}^(2)

49 + 64 = 121

113 < 121
The second set of values is an OBTUSE triangle.
