Two friends left school at the same time and drove in opposite directions. One friend averages 40 miles per hour and the other friend averages 35 miles per hour. When will they be 150 miles apart?

Answer:

2.000 hrs

Explanation:

If they are going in opposite directions simultaneously, then you would add together both rates of speed(MPH)(40m + 35m = 75m) and multiply that number however many times necessary(2h) until you get the equaled value requested in the question(150m). 2h x 75m = 150m thus making the answer 2.000 hrs

Hope this helps:)
