The LD 50 (Lethal dose) is the amount of the toxin required to kill the 50% members of the population. The graph attached in the question depicts that at around 6mg of cadmium per gallon per day, the number of the tadpoles is around 50% of the total population of the tadpoles. Hence, the LD 50 in this case would be 6mg of cadmium per gallon per day.
