When simplifying the equation 4y-4y-12=14-2, first you combine like terms.
4y-4y-12=14-2
0y-12=12
Then the y cancels out because of the 0 and you get -12=12.
Since -12=12 is false, this means that
this equation has zero solutions.
Hope this helps!
