The molecules in a cup of hot tea vibrate:

heat is caused by movement of molecules. If something, or instance, hot tea, the water molecules are vibrating and moving quickly, generating heat and therefore making the water hot, but not boiling (that's the process when liquids turn into a gas). Therefore the molecules in a cup of hot tea would vibrate much faster than the molecules in a glass of cold milk, because the slower the molecular movement, the less heat is generated among the molecules
