Structural adaptations are the physical features of an organism that help it to survive and succeed in its environment. Structural adaptations can affect the way the creature moves, eats, reproduces or protects itself.

An example of a structural adaptation would be having smaller leaves, which mostly applies to plants living in arid conditions as it minimises water loss by decreasing the surface area to volume ratio for transpiration to occur
