The answer is C because that’s when the mother and father‘s cells combine to form a mixed cell and all traits are inherited

Answer choice C.

As soon as the sperm and ovum come together, traits from each party are combined to form a new, genetically different, organism. There aren't any new genes added as the zygote/fetus/embryo develops. They get all the genes they'll ever need from fertilization.

Hope that helps!
