Leah is using a 3.4-meter ladder to paint the exterior of her house. Leah has a mass of 50 kilograms. The acceleration due to gravity is equal to 9.8 meters per second squared. What force, in Newton’s, does Leah exert on the ladder when standing on it?

The equation is Force = mass times acceleration so:
50 x 9.8 = 490 N

Answer: 490 Newton.

The length of ladder is, l = 3.4 m.

The mass of leah is,
m = 50 kg.

The acceleration due to gravity is, g = 9.8 m/s².

When Leah stand on the ladder the force exerted by her on the ladder is equal to her weight.
F = W

Weight of leah is,

W=mg=50 \text k \text g * 9.8 \text m / \text s^2 = 490 \text N
