When a proton is fired without any positive or negative forces within the grid the proton will pass straight through the grid without changing its path. A proton is a subatomic particle found in the nucleus of every atom. The particle has a positive electrical charge, equal and opposite to that of the electron. If isolated a single proton would have a mass of 1.673 × 106-27 kg which is slightly less than that of a neutron.
