The options are
Because he was dedicated to his cause and committed to his vision
Because he had his own radio talk show
Because popular people are effective leaders
Because he was friends with Dr. King

I believe the answer is the first option

Billy Graham would be considered an effective leader due to his ability to break down walls between different groups of individuals in American society. This evangelical preacher was able to bridge the gap between blacks and whites during the era of Civil Rights. He used his religious convictions as a means to bring people together in order to show that they had similar views/faith. He ended up being a spiritual advisor to several presidents and continued to help make race relations in America better by supporting racial integration during the 1950's and 1960's.
