Slader two similar triangles have a pair of corresponding sides of length 12 meters and 8 meters. the larger triangle has a perimeter of 48 meters and an area of 180 square meters. find the perimeter p and area a of the smaller triangle.

we know that

[perimeter smaller triangle]=[scale factor]*[perimeter larger triangle]

[area smaller triangle]=[scale factor]²*[area larger triangle]

[scale factor]=8/12----> 4/6----> 2/3

therefore


[perimeter smaller triangle]=[2/3]*[48]-------> 32 m

[area smaller triangle]=[2/3]²*[180]-----> (4/9)*180---> 80 m²
