f(x) = 4x + 1
g(x) = x² - 5

(f - g)(x) means subtracting g(x) from f(x). So we can write:


(f-g)(x)=4x+1 - ( x^(2) -5) \\ \\ =4x + 1- x^(2) +5 \\ \\ =- x^(2) +4x+6

So option c is the correct answer
