The salad recipe needs
(1)/(4) cups of vinegar for every
(2)/(3) cup of oil.

Now we multiply both by 4

We get

The salad recipe needs
4((1)/(4)) = 1 cup of vinegar for
4 ((2)/(3) ) =(8)/(3) cups of oil.

But
(8)/(3) = 2(2)/(3)

So for every 1 cup of vinegar we need
2(2)/(3) cups of oil
