Crop yield is the ratio of the number of bushels harvested to the number of acres used for the harvest. This year, the harvest at a farm was 94,010 bushels of grain, resulting in a crop yield of 170 bushels per acre.

To the nearest whole acre, how many acres were harvested?

Answer

Find out the how many acres were harvested .

To prove

As given

This year, the harvest at a farm was 94,010 bushels of grain, resulting in a crop yield of 170 bushels per acre.

let us assume that the acres were harvested be x .

As given

Crop yield is the ratio of the number of bushels harvested to the number of acres used for the harvest.

Than the equation

170 × x = 94010

x = (94010)/(170)

x = 553 acres

Therefore 553 acres were harvested .
