a rocket was launched into the air from a platform above the ground. The height, in feet, of the rocket above the ground t seconds after being thrown can be determined by the expression -16t squared + 64t + 80. What does the 80 in the expression represent?

For this case we have the following expression:
h (t) = -16t ^ 2 + 64t + 80
For t = 0 we have:
h (0) = -16 (0) ^ 2 + 64 (0) + 80
h (0) = -0 + 0 + 80
h (0) = 80 feet
Therefore the number 80 represents the initial height of the rocket
Answer:
the 80 in the expression represented:
the initial height of the rocket
