The standard precautions and treatment for patients with HIV and AIDS are:

Precautions- Abstinence from sex, safe-sex practices such as wearing a condom, do not share needles, get tested.

Treatment- The treatment for this virus is forms of therapy that are effective in boosting the levels of T cells and reducing viral load. Viral load is the amount of HIV in the bloodstream. Starting treatment early, before a patient's immune system is badly weakened can improve survival. People with high viral loads are more likely to progress rapidly to AIDS than people with lower levels of the virus. ART is the gold- standard treatment for HIV, AIDS. ART is antiretroviral therapy.
