Kinetic energy = 1/2 (mass) (speed)²
Kinetic energy = (1/2) (2.9 x 10⁵ kg) (1.12 x 10⁴ m/s)²
= (0.5 x 2.9 x (1.12)² x 10¹³) kg-m²/s²
=
1.82 x 10¹³ Joules
