A candle maker purchased packaging boxes to ship cylindrical candles to customers. The boxes measure 6 in. By 6 in by 10 in. To keep the candles from dancing, foam inserts with a thickness of 0.5 in. Are placed between the candle and the inside of the box on all sides. What is the volume of the largest candle that can be shipped out?

we know that

[the volume of the largest candle that can be shipped out] is
=[(6-0.5*2)*(6-0.5*2)*(10-0.5*2)]
=[(6-1)*(6-1)*(10-1)]
=5*5*9
=225 in³

the answer is
the volume of the largest candle that can be shipped out] is 225 in³
