Hi! To find the surface area of a cylinder, you need to find the surface area of the base, and then the surface area of the rectangular prism that "wraps around" the cylinder.

The area of a circle: A=pi*r^2
A=3.14*3.7^2
A≈43.00

Multiply this by 2 because there are 2 circles

Combined Area of Circles = 86

Circumference of a circle = C=2pi*r (this is for the width of the rectangle)
C=2(3.14)(3.7)
C=23.236
C=W
W=23.236
W*L=A
23.236 * 7.1=A
A≈165

Now lets add them together!

86cm^2+165cm^2= 251 cm squared
