Both Jonas and the Giver are able to see color, a trait most others cannot see.

Both Jonas and The Giver share a bond of being able to see color, and share memories. Memories meaning colors, war, music, etc. Sorry if i'm wrong, that's the only other connection it could be though.

The Giver mentions to Jonas that there is another "pale eyed girl" that is younger and could be a receiver. Make an inference - Why does it matter about their eye color?

What was unusual about Jonas and the newchild? They both had pale eyes. They both had red hair. They both cried a lot when they were babies. They both had the same name.
