I think that a way it could be interpreted is that were a person comes from it doesn't put them and their entire identity into that stereotype or category that people might assume because of the way they speak, or look, or because they are an immigrant.

This is a question about personal opinion, because everybody has different ideas. So take my answer and adding to it might help you more.

It means that in the grand scheme of things, our nationality means very little, so we shouldn't judge immigrants by where they come from.
