The volume of a prism is given by ...
V = Bh
where B is the area of the base, and h is the "height" of the prism.

Here, the base is an equilateral triangle with side length 3 in. The area of such a triangle is given by
A = (√3)4*s²
where s is the side length.

Your triangular prism has a base area of ...
B = (√3)/4*(3 in)² = (9/4)√3 in²
so the volume is
V = ((9/4)√3 in²)(6 in)
V = (27/2)√3 in³
V ≈ 23.383 in³
