1) Percentage = (Math Class / Total Attendance) x 100

thus.. Percentage = 81 / 449 = 0.18 x 100 = 18%

2. 1/8 x 6 = 6/8ths = 6 pieces of cake

100%/x%=449/81
(100/x)*x=(449/81)*x - we multiply both sides of the equation by x
100=5.5432098765432*x - we divide both sides of the equation by (5.5432098765432) to get x
100/5.5432098765432=x
18.04008908686=x
