the area is 120 because...
the formula for area for a parallelogram is b x h
so 10 x 12 = 120

You have to assume that WP is the height. WP meets the base YZ at right angles at point P. If those conditions are true, then the Area = base * height. The side chosen must have the height hit the base at right angles.

Area = b * h
Area = 10 * 12
Area = 120 cm^2 <<<< answer.
