y------> the length of the hypotenuse

we know that
y=2x----> equation 1

applying the Pythagoras theorem
y
²=96²+x²--------> equation 2

substitute equation 1 in equation 2
[2x]
²=96²+x²-----> 4x²-x²-96²=0-----> 3x²-9216=0

the answer is
3x2 - 9216 = 0
