I believe the answer is:
. Spouses commonly rationalize unequal divisions of labor.
Studies shows that couples who stays together the longest tend to be the couples that acknowledge each other's value and contribution to the relationship and willing to ensure that they would divide equal amount of responsibilities in their life. Equal in this case does not have to be exactly the same.
