Sam is practicing long track speed skating at an ice skating rink. The distance around the rink is 250 yards. He has skated around the rink 8 times so far.

How many more yards does he need to skate around the rink to complete 3 miles?

he needs to go 3280 more yards because there are 1760 yards in one mile and he has to do three miles so you multiple that by three to get 5280 yards in three miles. Sam has gone 2000 yards after 8 laps so you subtract the two to get 3280 more yards.
