Solution

For this case we can find the area as the sum of the rectangle and the semicircle so we have this:

A1= 3in * 4in= 12 in^2

A2 = (pi/2) *(2in)^2 = 6.28 in^2

then the total area is:

A= A1+ A2= 12+ 6.28 in^2 = 18.28 in^2

And then the perimeter similarly we have:

P= 2*4 in + 2*3in + 2pi*(4in/2) = 8+ 6+ 12.56 in= 26.56in

Then the final answer is:

Area ~18.28 in^2 and Perimeter ~26.56 in
