Conducting a regular self-exam of the external reproductive system can reduce a male’s risk for Testicular Cancer.

It's important to perform regular self-exams, in order to try to identify possible anomalies in the region. It can help the early identification of the Cancer, which can lead to a successful treatment and possible cure.

The self-exam should be done as follows:

1) Gently grip the top of the scrotum in order to feel the spermatic cord.

2) With your other hand, glide your thumb and fingers along both sides of the testicles from top to bottom, looking for lumps or bumps. On the back at the top, there is a normal lump of the tube that carries sperm. That one is normal.

Should one feel any anomaly, one should look for medical assistance.
