Well, if you know the cause and purpose for the Civil War, then you'd know that answer is Choice D. it gave black men the right to vote.

Amendment 19 gave women the right to vote. Because we know this we can essentially take choices B and C from the equation. Now, to prove point A incorrect, please read the excerpt below:

The Compromise of 1850, the most controversial act, was the notorious Fugitive Slave Act. Under the law, all citizens were required to assist in the return of runaway slaves. For the first time, the federal government was assisting slaveholders. Those opposed to slavery were enraged by this act of Congress. Because, but not only because, of the growing number of enraged abolitionists, the Civil War was enacted. The Civil War was a war to end slavery.

Because we know this, we can cancel out choice A because:
1. It has nothing to do with the Civil War
2. It has nothing to do with slavery
3. Cultures in the Middle East prevent women from owning property; this was not something America subjected themselves to.

Thus, 5 years following the Civil War, the 15th amendment was passed which granted black man the right to vote, i.e, Choice D.
