A fox population eats rabbits that have a population cycle of about ten years. Which is a likely effect of the foxes preying on the rabbits?

The rabbits will change to a five-year population cycle.

I would say that the foxes would have a 10 year population cycle if rabbits were their main diet source as they would be dependent on the abundance of the rabbits and presumably their numbers would decline between the 10 year population peaks similar to the rabbits.

Answer:

The most likely effect of the 'foxes preying on the rabbits' would be that the 'foxes will have a ten-year population cycle'.

Step-by-step explanation:

The rabbits that have a 'ten year population cycle' would keep thriving at the same pace but the foxes who depend on the rabbits for their survival would achieve a ten year population cycle through a continued process of evolution due to the automatically formed relation between peak population increases in both the species.
