Explanation:
when an object gains height, Kinetic energy in the object is converted to gpe. gpe = mgh
when an object loses height and falls down, the object is accelerated by gravity (free fall) therefore, gains velocity which means the gpe is converted to kinetic energy.
kinetic energy = 1/2 × m × v²
this is applicable only when the mass is constant.
