If the x is also supposed to be included in the radical, then you should be
√(18) which simplifies to
3√(2) or approximately 4.24

If the x is on the outside,
√(24) simplifies to
2√(6). Now do
2 √(6) - 6 in a calculator to get approximately - 1.10
