First of all, your second line would have the same slope : 3

Then we know that this line passes throught the point (2, -4)

The equation for this line is like :

y'=mx+p'

y'=-4\\m=3\\x=2\\\\-4=3*(2)+p\\-4=6+p\\p=-4-6\\p=-10\\

So the equation in slope form for the line parallel to y = 3x+7 is : y' = 3x - 10
