4*1/2=2 gallons milk were used to make hot chocolate
4-2 = 2 gallons left after making chocolate
2*2/3=4/3 gallons were used to make cookies
2-4/3=6/3-4/3=2/3 gallons left after making hot chocolate and cookies

She used half for hot chocolate so 1/2 x 4 =2
Then she used 2/3 x 2 = 4/3
4 - 2 - 4/3 = 12/3 - 6/3 - 4/3
= 2/3 that is ur answer
