500 pencils sold for 1.75 per pencil is $875.
Now find the cost of producing 500 pencils at 40 cents a pencil. This is $200.
Subtract it from 875 to get $675.
The school gets 20% from this $675 so we multiply 675 x 0.20 to get 135
The school will get $135 if they sold 500 sets of pencils.
