If you convert it to larger numbers you have 2/6 (1/3) and 3/6 (1/2) and if you add them together you get 5/6 which cannot be simplified anymore than it already is.

`(1)/(3)+(1)/(2)`

Re-write with common denominator, in this case 6:


`(1 * 2)/(3 * 2)+(1 * 3)/(2 * 3)`

Add:

`(2)/(6)+(3)/(6)=(5)/(6)`
