I had same question on quiz and got it right.
Draw a chain of bounces to the left, 12 units wide, starting at 0 and ending at –-24.
Why? Well 1st if you go to the left it means it is negative. And you always start at zero whether you're going positive or negative. In this case we are going negative since the answer is -2. So you go from 0 to negative 24, not positive 24 or etc. So it only makes sense.
