How did Hmong soldiers help the United States?

The Hmong soldiers were the ground troops in the jungle since they were knowledgeable with the topography. They rescued American pilots and gathered intelligence for the Americans. They destroyed roads and bridges so that the weapons sent by the Russians and the Chinese would not reach the North Vietnamese.
