Read the excerpt from "Sonnet 29.” Like to the lark at break of day arising From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate; For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings That then I scorn to change my state with kings. The figurative language in these lines convey the theme that being in love makes a person feel like royalty. is not as joyful as being royalty. brings a person the greatest joy. can cause a person to feel confused.

In this excerpt from "Sonnet 29", by William Shakespeare, the figurative language in these lines conveys the theme that being in love brings a person the greatest joy. On the first lines of this poem, Shakespeare writes how troubled, jealous of those around him, and insecure he feels. But when he thinks of his beloved brings him such happiness that he would not change his place with that of a king.
