UPC stands for “Universal Product Code”. This is a “barcode” widely used in US, Europe, Australia and other countries. It contains “12 numerical digits”. This is mainly used to scan trade items at the “sale point”. This consists of scanned black strips which contains the hidden digit which will be used at the sale point.
You might have seen the codes are scanned in the super market and the computer will generate information on the system like item name, price, etc. This avoids manual entry of all these data related to item which in turn increases the productivity.
