Answer: to add a topic.

The introduction of an essay provides some background information on the topics that are going to be addressed in the text. It also presents these topics for the first time. Therefore, a writer should revise the introduction if he wants to add a topic to the essay. All of the other options (change the point of view, change the tone, or make a summary) do not require the introduction to be changed.
