A pump can fill a 750-gallon tank in 35 minutes. How long will it take to fill a 1000-gallon tank with this same pump?

750 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow 35 \text { minutes}

1 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow 35 / 750 \text { minutes}

1 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow (1)/(150) \text { minutes}

1000 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow (7)/(150) * 1000 \text { minutes}

1000 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow (7000)/(150) \text { minutes}

1000 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow (140)/(3) \text { minutes}

1000 \text {-gallon tank} \longrightarrow 46(2)/(3) \text { minutes}

46(2)/(3) \text { minutes} \longrightarrow 46 \text { minutes and } 40 \text { seconds}

750 gallon = 35 minute

1 gallon = 35/750 min.

1000 gallon = 35/750 * 1000 min.

= 140/3 minutes

So it would be about 2 hours and 20 minutes!
