a parallelogram with vertices at (0,3),(2,0),(4,2), and (2,5) is reflected over the y-axis. which vertex of the parallelogram will have the same x-coordinate before and after the reflection?

I literally did this today, the answer is (0,3)

Explanation:

We know that when a point us reflected over the y-axis then the x-coordinate of the point converts to opposite sign whereas the y-coordinate remains the same.

i.e. (x,y) → (-x,y)

Here the vertices of the parallelogram are:

(0,3) , (2,0) , (4,2) , and (2,5) .

Hence, after reflection the points are transformed as follows:

(0,3) → (0,3)

(2,0) → (-2,0)

(4,2) → (-4,2)

(2,5) → (-2,5)

Hence, the point which remains the same is: (0,3).
