h=7

To convert this to vertex form, we must complete the square. This equation is in the form f(x)=ax²+bx+c. To complete the square we take half of b and square it:
(-14/2)²=(-7)²=49

This tells us what to add to the function. We must also subtract it from the function, however, in order to preserve equality:
p(x) = x²-14x+49+29-49
p(x) = (x-7)²-20

Now that it is in vertex form, we can see that the value of h is 7.
