you have 2 legs and the angle, the angle is opposite to the leg,
so we can write TAN of the angle

tan(43°)= (opposite leg)/(adjacent leg)
tan(43°)= x/12
x=12*tan(43°)≈ 11.2

\tan(\Theta) = \frac{\text{opp}}{\text{adj}}

\tan(43) = (x)/(12)

x = \tan(43) * 12

x = 11.2
