The law of reflection states that if the angle of incidence is 56 degrees, the angle of reflection is ___ degrees.

The law of reflection states that "the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection" , provided the reference line is the normal. But ,since we require the angle from reflecting surface , the angle with reference to normal is 34º equals 90-34 = 56º with respect to the reflecting surface.
