Answer:

Original length of square flower garden is 12 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that when the side of the square is increased by 3 m the area will be 225 sq m.

Let initially the length of the square be x. We know that the area of the square is side × side.

So,
(x+3)^2=225

On solving the quadratic equation :

x^2+6x-216=0

x = 12 m

So, the original length of the garden is 12 m.

Hence, the correct option is (c) " 12 cm ".

To get the answer it is just necessary to get the square root of the 225 square meters using a simple scientific calculator and the answer is 15meters for  each side since it is a square flower garden so subtract 3m from each side gives a 12 x 12m original garden.
