What are the solutions to 2x^2 + 7x = 4

2x^2+7x-4=0
Δ=7^2-4*2*(-4)
Δ=49+32
Δ=81
x1=(-7+V81)/4=(-7+9)/4=2/4=1/2
x2=(-7-9)/4=-16/4=-4

the solutions: x1= 1/2 and x2= - 4
