Step-by-step explanation:

A balanced equation is defined as the equation which contains same number of atoms on both reactant and product side.

Chemical formula of sodium carbonate is
Na_(2)CO_(3) and it is formed by chemical reaction between sodium, carbon and oxygen atom as follows.

Na(s) + C(s) + O2(g) \rightarrow Na_2CO_3(s)

To balance this chemical equation we multiply Na by 2 and
O_(2) by
(3)/(2) on the reactant side.

Hence, the balanced chemical equation is as follows.

2Na(s) + C(s) + (3)/(2)O2(g) \rightarrow Na_2CO_3(s)
